Why we feel this so strongly
We've stood inside a slot-machine factory. We've seen the code behind the spinning reels — the math designed to extract, the dopamine loops tuned to keep a tired person pulling a lever instead of going home. We've watched what those machines do to people who can least afford them.
It was — quite literally — sickening. And we decided: when we build our own economy, this will be the one door we never open. Not for revenue. Not for engagement metrics. Not for a quick pump in user numbers.
Casinos extract. We build. Those two cannot live in the same house.
Four reasons, in order of weight
Addiction is not a business model
Gambling addiction destroys families, careers and savings. A platform whose vision is 'regenerative economy' cannot in good faith run mechanics whose effectiveness is measured by how compulsively users return.
Value extraction breaks the circle
Every LOVE module is designed to create something real (a service, a creation, a connection) and circulate value back into the community. A casino is the opposite: it concentrates value upward by mathematical guarantee. The two cannot coexist.
Legal risk is structural, not edge-case
Under EU MiCA, Slovenian ZIS (Zakon o igrah na srečo), UK Gambling Act, German GlüStV and US state law, RNG-based wagering with crypto is gambling — full stop. Operating without a national licence is a regulatory offence; a "Curaçao licence" does not solve this for EU users. We choose the licensed, conservative path: do not run gambling at all.
Trust is our compounding asset
Every serious banking, payments and compliance partner we want to work with (Wirex, Visa/Mastercard principal members, EU EMI institutions) screens for casino exposure. The moment "LOVE" appears next to "casino", doors close for a decade. We refuse to trade a decade of partnerships for a quarter of slot-machine revenue.
What this means, concretely
- We are retiring LOVE Luck. The module is removed from navigation. Existing balances will be honoured through a fair wind-down — no user loses funds.
- We will never integrate third-party casino, slots, roulette, or sportsbook providers.
- We will never operate a lottery, raffle, or scratch-card mechanic where the outcome is decided by chance and value is extracted from the participant pool.
- Skill-based games (LOVE Snake, Kingdom, Tiberian, Zoo, Cossacks, Earth Game, BLAST, arcade) stay — they reward play, not chance. Outcome depends on the player's skill, not on a hidden RNG curve.
- Trading, staking, governance and yield modules are not gambling — they are financial instruments with public disclosure, market mechanics and user-controlled risk. They remain.
